This is to notify the student community that the school management of the University of Africa, Toru Orua (UAT), Bayelsa State, has announced the school fees schedule for JUPEB, Foundation, and Undergraduate students of the institution for the 2026/2027 academic session.
UAT School Fees Schedule
Important Points to Note:
- Accommodation is optional. Nonetheless, students are encouraged to stay in the University Hostels.
- The prevailing rates for the University Hostel Accommodation are as follows:
- Undergraduates (Toru-Orua Campus) N50,000 per academic session
- School of Foundation Studies/JUPEB (Bulou-Orua Campus) N50,000 per academic session
- The laboratory Fee of N25,000 per academic session applies to all students of the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Agriculture.
- Students are to pay all their fees in full on or before the commencement of the 1st Semester examinations.
- All the same, students may contact the Bursar and agree on a payment plan.

The fees charged by the university reflect the superior quality of instructional services it offers, as well as the type of accommodation and other student services offered.

UAT Special Payment Plan
The university also offers various forms of financial assistance to reduce the total fee burden, as detailed below.
While the university prefers that payments be made in full before the start of each session, under certain circumstances, students can pay per semester but before the beginning of each semester.
Sometimes, the university may allow payments to be made in two or three installments.
Discounts
All students who pay their fees in full seven days before the beginning of the session will receive a 10% discount.
Payments per semester received up to 7 days before the start of the semester will enjoy a 5% discount.
Payment by Installment
In those cases where an arrangement for payment by installment has been approved, a minimum down payment amounting to 40% of the total payment must be made when signing the agreement to pay by installment.
The balance must then be paid in two equal installments, the first of which must be paid before the end-of-semester examinations. The remainder must be paid before the start of the next semester.
Scholarship
For the 2026/2027 session, the university has a limited number of scholarships which will cover up to N280,000 per session for the first 100 applicants to pay their acceptance fee of N20,000.
Loan Scheme for Bayelsans
To create more opportunities for Bayelsans to gain access to tertiary education, the State has approved a loan scheme to cover the cost of their university education.

Trimming Your University of Africa Bill With Discounts and Instalments
The early payment discount is the simplest saving on offer at Toru Orua. Paying in full seven days before the session starts takes ten percent off, which is worth N22,000 to a fresher on the N220,000 total and N17,500 to a returning student.
Paying semester by semester still earns five percent, provided the money lands at least seven days before that semester begins. The discount disappears entirely once the deadline passes, so timing matters more than the amount.
Students who need instalments should talk to the Bursar early. An approved arrangement requires forty percent down at signing, which is N88,000 against the fresher total, with the balance split into two equal payments across the semester.
Two other lines are worth checking. Science and Agriculture students add N25,000 in laboratory fees, and the first 100 applicants to pay the N20,000 acceptance fee can access a scholarship worth up to N280,000 for the session.
Anything unclear should go to bursar@uat.edu.ng rather than a third party. Bayelsa indigenes should also ask about the state loan scheme, which was approved to cover the cost of university education for residents.
