In a recent development, the University of Delta (UNIDEL) has announced the conclusion of the first semester for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The University’s Senate had previously approved Saturday, 3rd June 2026, as the end date for the first semester examinations.
University Proceeds on One-Week Break
In line with the University’s calendar, students are notified that a one-week break will commence on Sunday, 4th June, running until Sunday, 11th June 2026.
This break marks the end of the first semester and allows students to rest and recharge before the commencement of the second semester.
Vacating University Accommodation
As part of the end-of-semester procedures, students are required to vacate their University hostel accommodations by no later than noon on Sunday, 4th June 2026.
This directive is important to allow the necessary cleaning and maintenance work to be carried out in the hostels during the break.
Second Semester Commencement Date
As the first semester draws to a close, preparations are already underway for the commencement of the second semester of the 2026/2027 academic session. Students are hereby informed that lectures for the second semester will begin on Tuesday, 13th June 2026.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Mrs.) S.C. Chiemeke took the opportunity to congratulate all staff and students on the successful completion of the first semester. She appreciated their hard work and commitment during the semester and wished everyone a well-deserved rest during the break.
