This page covers the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) academic calendar for 2026/2027, including when the session is expected to begin and what has and hasn’t been confirmed so far.

UNIPORT Academic Calendar
As of this writing, UNIPORT’s official academic calendar page still shows the Approved Revised Academic Calendar for the 2025/2026 session as the most recent document uploaded. The 2025/2026 session itself began later than planned: fresh students were due to arrive on 16 November 2025, with returning students arriving 30 November 2025, and the resumption was later pushed back by two weeks before lectures eventually started. Second semester lectures for that session began on 18 May 2026.
For 2026/2027, a resumption date of Sunday, 1 November 2026 (arrival) with lectures commencing Monday, 9 November 2026 has been widely reported, and it lines up with a commencement date of 9 November 2026 also listed by one of UNIPORT’s own institutes for 2026/2027 activities. That gives reasonable confidence in the resumption timing, even though the main academic calendar PDF for 2026/2027 had not yet been posted to UNIPORT’s academic calendar page at the time this was written.

Because this calendar hasn’t yet appeared on UNIPORT’s own academic calendar page, treat the first-semester resumption and lecture start dates as reliable and the rest (exam dates, second semester) as a strong working estimate rather than confirmed fact. UNIPORT has a history of shifting resumption by a week or two once a session is already underway, so it’s worth checking the student portal or the UNIPORT academic calendar page again closer to the date.
