The management of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has announced the extension of its tuition fee payment deadline for all new and returning students.
This is in response to student requests, and in turn, the University has provided a two-week extension of tuition fees and all school charges to the closure of the registration portal.
A two-week extension gives students who were close to the original deadline but needed a little more time, whether to raise funds or sort out a payment issue, a genuine second chance rather than facing an immediate penalty. It does not, however, change what students actually owe, since the fee amounts themselves are unaffected by the extension.
New Deadline Announced
Following the extension, the new tuition payment deadline is now Thursday, 15th June 2026.
This gives students more time to complete payments and register for their courses online.
All new and returning students who have not yet paid their tuition fees are strongly advised to take advantage of this extension and complete their payments and online registration/course registration by the new scheduled date.
Failure to complete all necessary requirements may result in serious restrictions or difficulty accessing University services and facilities.
Completing Both Payment and Registration by June 15
Note that the 15th June 2026 deadline covers two separate actions, paying your tuition and other school charges, and completing your online course registration, not just one of them. A student who pays but skips course registration, or the reverse, is still at risk of the access restrictions described above.
If you have already paid, log back in to confirm your course registration went through successfully rather than assuming payment alone finishes the process. Students who still have outstanding charges should settle them well before the deadline, since portal traffic tends to increase as a closing date approaches.
Keep every payment receipt and registration confirmation you receive during this window, since you may be asked to present them later if any discrepancy comes up with your student record. If you run into a technical issue on the portal, report it to your faculty or the ICT support desk promptly rather than waiting until close to the deadline to seek help.
