Christian Religious Knowledge rewards candidates who can point to the right passage and explain what it means, not simply retell the story. Past questions make that difference obvious quickly, because they show how much interpretation examiners expect alongside the narrative.
This page covers how to revise with them, and gives you a free timed practice test.

Narrative then application
Most theory questions have two halves. The first asks you to account for an event, the second asks what it teaches or how it applies today. Candidates who write a full page on the story and two lines on the lesson lose half the available marks.
Give both halves roughly equal weight. When you practise, time yourself on each separately so the habit sticks.
Practise free, scored instantly
Our WAEC CBT practice test includes Christian Religious Studies among 15 subjects. The objective section is where precise recall of names, places and sequences gets tested, and that is exactly what timed practice sharpens.
References matter
You are not expected to quote chapter and verse for everything, but naming the book and the people involved shows the examiner you know the passage rather than a summary of it.
- Learn the key figures in each prescribed passage and what each one did.
- Keep the sequence of events straight. Questions often turn on order.
- Note which book a passage comes from, even when a verse escapes you.
Cover both testaments
The paper draws on both the Old and New Testament, and candidates often revise one far more thoroughly than the other. Check the spread of questions across several past papers and give your weaker testament the extra evenings.
Which years to use
Stay within the last five to seven sessions. The prescribed passages are revised periodically, so an older paper may test material no longer on the syllabus, which wastes revision time you do not have.
Official syllabus and texts
WAEC owns the copyright to its question papers. The current syllabus, including the prescribed passages, comes from the West African Examinations Council at waecnigeria.org.
Answer one full question tonight
Pick a passage you know well and answer both halves of a past question under time. If the application half runs short, that is where the next few evenings should go.
