This is to inform the general public and all Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) aspirants that the Department of Agricultural Technology admission requirements has been published.
The requirements cover the O Level credits, the four JAMB papers and the minimum UTME score. A clause at the foot of the credit list adds two compulsory subjects that the opening lines do not name.

O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Agricultural Technology include Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- Biology/Agricultural Science
- Mathematics and any three of the following:
- Geography
- Food and Nutrition
- Economics
- Technical Drawing
- English Language
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Nigerian Language
- Home Economics
- At least credit passes in English Language, and Chemistry are compulsory
Biology or Agricultural Science and Mathematics open the list, with three more subjects drawn from the group below. The closing clause then makes English Language and Chemistry compulsory as well.
Counting those together leaves only one genuinely free place, to be filled from Geography, Food and Nutrition, Economics, Technical Drawing, Physics, a Nigerian Language or Home Economics.
The Chemistry requirement is the one most often missed, because it appears at the end of the list rather than with the named subjects at the top.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Biology/Agricultural Science
- Chemistry and any other Science subject
The JAMB combination is tighter and clearer. English Language, Biology or Agricultural Science and Chemistry are fixed, and the fourth paper is any other science subject.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into YABATECH for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 150 or above in your JAMB result.

Reading the Credit Clause for YABATECH Agricultural Technology
Biology or Agricultural Science, Mathematics, English Language and Chemistry are all required once the closing clause is taken into account, which leaves a single open credit.
The JAMB combination names the same core and adds one further science paper. Check Chemistry on your result before anything else, then make sure your score reaches 150 for the 2026/2027 session.
