This is to inform the general public and all Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) aspirants that the Department of Education/Fine Art admission requirements has been published.
The requirements cover the O Level credits, the JAMB subject combination and the minimum UTME score. Fine Art is the subject this department never does without.

O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education/Fine Art include Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Fine Art
- Mathematics and any two (2) subjects from below:
- History/Government
- Chemistry/Physical Science
- Biology/Agricultural Science
- Literature in English
- Clothing and Textiles
- Religious Knowledge
- Economics/Commerce
- Geography
- Home Economics
English Language, Fine Art and Mathematics are the three named credits, with two more drawn from the group above. Clothing and Textiles and Home Economics sit there alongside the sciences and the Arts.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Fine Art and any two (2) of History, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and a Nigerian Language.
Fine Art is fixed on this list as well, and the two accompanying papers come from a short named group rather than the wider pool used at O Level.
Mathematics moves from a compulsory credit to one option among five here, so a candidate can leave it off the registration without leaving it off the result.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into YABATECH for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 150 or above in your JAMB result.

Fine Art appears on both subject lists and cannot be substituted, which makes it the single most important grade on your result for this department.
English Language and Mathematics are compulsory credits, while the JAMB papers are drawn from a shorter named group. Check both lists against your subjects, then make sure your score reaches 150 for the 2026/2027 session.
