The Federal University, Gusau (FUGUS) hasn’t confirmed a fresh fees circular for the 2026/2027 academic session. The breakdown below is the last schedule we could trace (2022/2023), shown as background while you confirm the current amount.
How Much Is FUGUS School Fees?
FUGUS fees have previously been graded two ways: by faculty, and by whether you are a fresh student, a returning student, or in your final year.
The final-year column sits above the ordinary returning rate rather than below it, which is unusual and worth noting before you assume costs fall steadily as you progress.
| Faculty | Fresh | Returning | Returning (Final Year) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Science | ₦178,000 | ₦137,000 | ₦149,000 |
| Agricultural Science | ₦165,000 | ₦124,000 | ₦136,000 |
| Arts/Social Science/Mgt Science/Education | ₦138,000 | ₦97,000 | ₦109,000 |
| Computing | ₦160,000 | ₦119,000 | ₦131,000 |
| Clinical Sciences (MBBS) | ₦192,000 | ₦181,000–₦196,000 | ₦208,000 |
| Basic Medical Sciences | ₦182,000 | ₦171,000 | ₦183,000 |

Confirming Your Own FUGUS Figure
Generate the invoice on the student portal once your admission is confirmed, since it ties the amount to your faculty and level rather than to a general schedule.
Ask the bursary whether the acceptance fee has been reviewed, and pay only into the account the university names. Keep the teller until your registration shows as cleared.
The Flat N41,000 Fresher Premium at FUGUS
Four faculties share an identical pattern. Science, Agricultural Science, Computing, and the combined Arts, Social Science, Management and Education group each charge exactly ₦41,000 more for a fresh student than a returning one.
The medical faculties break that rule. Clinical Sciences falls only ₦11,000 at most between fresh and returning, and Basic Medical Sciences ₦11,000, so the usual second-year relief barely arrives.
Final year costs more than the middle years across the board, by ₦12,000 in the four standard faculties. Budget for an increase rather than a saving as you approach graduation.
The surrounding charges are lopsided. Acceptance is just ₦2,000 while a hostel bed runs ₦60,000, so an Arts fresher at Federal University, Gusau reaches almost exactly ₦200,000 for the session.
