How to Calculate ABSU Aggregate Score 2024/2025

Many Students find it hard to calculate their aggregate score and their cut-off mark as this varies for different Institutions.

Before this, we are going to tell you what aggregate and Post UTME Score means and what things are to be considered before calculating the aggregate score.

ABSU Aggregate Score

Abia State University is one of the state-owned universities in Nigeria.

These state academic institutions were created to expand admissions and bring professional skills, expertise, and modern research facilities close to the city and rural dwellers and have helped talented students to obtain higher education.

What Is an Aggregate Score?

That means the candidate must get at least 50 Questions Correctly. The aggregate score will be used to determine the cut-off point for admission into each of the programs.

Cut-off points for each course will be determined by the performance of all the candidates who applied for the course.

What Is Post UTME Score?

After every UTME exercise, the exam body sets a particular mark {e.g., 120}. This mark is a score a candidate must have or cross to qualify him or her to sit for the chosen school’s POST UTME exercise.

This mark is announced to all schools to enable them to decide the number of candidates they will admit.

After the school’s decision, they announce a particular mark that must not be lower than the mark the UTME body fixed.

Any candidate who crosses the mark set by the UTME body and does not reach the chosen school’s mark is NEVER eligible to sit for the school’s POST UTME.

This mark or score set by the school admission board is known as SCHOOL’S CUT-OFF MARK.

How to Calculate ABSU Aggregate Score

When calculating ABSU’s aggregate score, two areas are important, and they are JAMB and Post UTME

Step1:

Multiply your jamb score by 0.6 and divide the result by 4

Step2:

Multiply your screening score by 0.4

Step3:

Add the final  results in steps 1 & 2

that is your aggregate

For a better understanding, let’s use Treasure as a case study,

Assume Treasure scores 250 in her JAMB and 150 in her Post UTME; we can get her aggregate score by doing this;

 Step 1 :  250 x 0.6= 150/4= 37.5

 Step 2 : 150 x 0.4 = 60

Step 3 : 37.5 + 60 = 97.5

Therefore, Treasure’s aggregate score for Abia State University (ABSU) is 97.5
