This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College Of Education, Ondo (ACEONDO) aspirants that the admission requirements for the Department of Hausa/Islamic Studies have been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Hausa and Islamic Studies are both compulsory here, at Ordinary Level and again in JAMB. The department names both halves of its title on each list.
No alternative is offered for either subject, so candidates need credit level results in both before the rest of the requirement becomes relevant.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Hausa/Islamic Studies include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Hausa
- Islamic Studies and any Arts subject
English Language, Mathematics, Hausa and Islamic Studies are the four named credits. The fifth may be any Arts subject the candidate holds.
That single free place is the only choice the Ordinary Level condition allows, which makes the requirement straightforward to check against a results slip.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Hausa
- Islamic Studies and any other Arts subject.
Reading the last entry as two papers gives English Language, Hausa, Islamic Studies and one further Arts subject.
Mathematics appears among the Ordinary Level credits but not in JAMB, which is the only difference between the two lists.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted to the Adeyemi College Of Education for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.
The figure sets eligibility for the screening exercise rather than deciding admission. Candidates below it are not invited to that stage at all.

Adeyemi College of Education, also known as Aceondo, is a Federal College in Ondo State, Nigeria’s southwest. The federal government of Nigeria manages the college.

Hausa and Islamic Studies Side by Side at ACEONDO
The combination this department asks for is specific. Both Hausa and Islamic Studies must be held, and each is required twice over.
For candidates in Ondo State the Hausa credit is the more difficult of the two to produce, since the language is seldom taught to certificate level there.
Beyond those two, English Language and Mathematics complete the named credits, one Arts place stays open, and the JAMB score needs to reach 120 for the screening exercise.
