For Al-Hikmah University, the long wait for a 2026/2027 resumption date is finally over. Everything laid out below is built directly around that one confirmed detail from the school’s own announcement.
Fresh and returning students should treat this date as fixed unless Al-Hikmah University issues a fresh update, since institutions in Nigeria rarely move a published resumption date around without a good reason for doing so.
What Al-Hikmah University Has Officially Announced
Al-Hikmah University Resumption Date for Freshers and Returning Students Freshers and final-year students are expected to resume on Sunday, 18 October 2026. Returning students in other levels resume a week later, on Sunday, 25 October 2026.
That is the detail Al-Hikmah University has put its name to for 2026/2027, and it is the one to build any plans around.
Preparing While You Wait
Checking the school’s official social media pages alongside the website can help, since some institutions post a short notice there before updating the main portal.
It helps to have a working email address and phone number linked to any student account, since schools often send registration and resumption updates through those channels first.
Returning students should also use this period to settle any outstanding fees from the previous semester, since unresolved balances can delay registration once resumption is confirmed.
Hostel allocation at most Nigerian institutions follows registration rather than preceding it, so students hoping to secure accommodation should expect to register first before applying for a room.
Students should be wary of anyone outside the school’s official admissions office offering to speed up registration or resumption for a fee, since that is a common scam during this period.
A matriculation ceremony, where it applies, usually comes after resumption and registration are both complete, so it is worth checking the school’s calendar for that date separately once it is out.
Course registration typically opens shortly after lectures resume, and missing that window can affect exam eligibility, so marking it down as soon as the school confirms it matters.
