The newly established CApIC-ACE at Covenant University is now accepting applications for its Master’s and PhD degree programmes for the 2024/2025 academic year.
Introduction to CApIC-ACE
Under the World Bank-funded African Centre of Excellence IMPACT project (ACE-IMPACT), CApIC-ACE is inviting motivated applicants from Nigeria and West & Central Africa into various Master’s and PhD degree programmes.
These include Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Information & Communication Engineering (ICE).
Successful applicants will be eligible for sponsorship and a rigorous 3-month English Language Training (especially beneficial for French-speaking applicants).
CApIC-ACE was established to build a critical mass of indigenous African scientists. These professionals will have the necessary skills in bioinformatics, molecular biology, and information & communications engineering.
They will drive and sustain impactful research in areas of malaria, prostate and breast cancer, and cloud & high-performance computing related to personalized medicine.

Admission Requirements
For the Master’s programme
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 (second class upper) from any recognized University in Nigeria, West or Central Africa.
For the PhD programme
Candidates must have Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from any recognized University in Nigeria, West or Central Africa.
PhD candidates must have a minimum CGPA of 4.0 on a 5.0 scale in M.Sc./M.Eng/M.Tech and a minimum CGPA of 3.5 (second class upper) in the Bachelor’s degree.
Please note that the minimum duration of these programmes is full-time, two academic sessions for the Master’s degree and three academic sessions for the PhD degree.
Candidates with professional Master’s degrees are not eligible for the PhD programme.
