This article explains exactly how to work out your aggregate score for Emmanuel Alayande College of Education (EACOED), with a correctly worked example.

Because every institution has its own cut-off mark and its own way of weighing JAMB and Post-UTME scores, many candidates struggle to work out exactly where they stand before the admission list is released.
Note: EACOED has since been upgraded to a full degree-awarding institution and is now officially known as Emmanuel Alayande University of Education (EAUED). The aggregate calculation method below still applies under the new name.
What Is Aggregate Score?
Your aggregate score is a combined figure built from your UTME score and your Post-UTME score, and it’s what the admissions board uses to rank candidates and determine the cut-off point for each programme. Cut-off points differ by course because they depend on how well all the candidates who applied for that particular course performed.
How to Calculate EACOED Aggregate Score
EACOED’s JAMB examination is marked out of 400, while its Post-UTME screening is marked out of 100. The formula follows the common 50:50 split used across most Nigerian colleges of education:
- Divide your JAMB score by 8.
- Divide your Post-UTME score by 2.
- Add the two results together to get your aggregate score.
Say a candidate had a JAMB score of 240 and a Post-UTME score of 60:
240 ÷ 8 = 30
60 ÷ 2 = 30
30 + 30 = 60
That candidate’s aggregate score would be 60 out of a possible 100.
