The 2026/2027 cut-off mark picture for FCE Katsina is now out. Candidates need this information before they can tell whether they are in contention for a place, and before any screening exercise starts.
Candidates who are still unsure where they stand should treat FCE Katsina’s figure as the starting point for everything else in the admission process. This figure applies to every candidate who selected the institution, regardless of course preference.
NCE Applicants No Longer Sit UTME
From the 2026/2027 admission cycle, applicants applying for NCE programmes, including at FCE Katsina, with a minimum of four credit passes at SSCE/O’Level are exempted from UTME. This was confirmed at JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting in Abuja and reported by the Guardian, Vanguard, and Businessday, among others.
You still need to register with JAMB, though. Qualified applicants go through an Institutional Professional Registration Centre (IPRC) domiciled in a college of education, or any JAMB Professional Registration Centre (PRC), for screening, verification, and issuance of an admission letter via CAPS.
Your O’Level credits and IPRC registration now carry the weight a UTME cut-off mark used to.
The Old UTME Benchmark (For Context)
Before this change, FCE Katsina had set its UTME requirement at 100, the standard floor most federal colleges of education used in earlier cycles. The college never published a separate departmental breakdown in past sessions, it applied this figure across the board.
We’re keeping that here as background only, since it no longer governs NCE admission.
Federal College of Education, Katsina, is located on Dutsin-ma Road, Katsina State, and receives candidates from all parts of the country. For the SSCE side, you’ll still need the relevant credits, including English and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
Since this is a new policy for 2026/2027, confirm directly with FCE Katsina’s admissions office or your nearest IPRC before finalizing anything.
