How to Calculate KWASU Aggregate Score 2026/2027

If you’re wondering how Kwara State University (KWASU) calculates its aggregate score, here’s something worth knowing upfront: KWASU doesn’t run a written Post-UTME screening exam at all. Its admission merit is built from just your UTME score and your O’Level results.

KWASU Aggregate Score

KWASU was established in 2009 under Dr. Bukola Saraki’s administration, with a focus on entrepreneurship and community service alongside its academic programmes.

How KWASU Actually Calculates Aggregate Score

According to KWASU’s own admissions documentation, candidates are assessed on a weighted formula of 70% UTME score and 30% O’Level results, with no written screening test involved. That makes KWASU different from universities that run a separate Post-UTME exam and add it as a third component.

Here’s how to work it out:

  1. Multiply your UTME score (out of 400) by 0.175 to get its 70-point contribution. (This works because 400 × 0.175 = 70, the maximum UTME can contribute.)
  2. Convert your five relevant O’Level subjects into points using the standard scale: A1 = 6, B2 = 5, B3 = 4, C4 = 3, C5 = 2, C6 = 1. Add them up (maximum 30 points across five subjects).
  3. Add the two results together. That’s your aggregate score, out of a possible 100.

Say a candidate scored 280 in UTME, with O’Level grades of A1 in English (6), B2 in Mathematics (5), B2 in Biology (5), C4 in Physics (3), and A1 in Chemistry (6):

UTME: 280 × 0.175 = 49

O’Level: 6 + 5 + 5 + 3 + 6 = 25

Aggregate: 49 + 25 = 74

That candidate’s aggregate score would be 74 out of a possible 100.

Note that because there’s no written Post-UTME test, your O’Level results carry real weight at KWASU; a weak set of grades can’t be compensated for by a strong UTME score alone. Minimum JAMB score to be considered is generally around 160, with five O’Level credits (including English and Mathematics) required in no more than two sittings.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve seen other sites describe a KWASU “Post-UTME score” divided by some factor, treat that with caution, KWASU’s own admissions page doesn’t describe a written screening exam at all. Register through KWASU’s official portal, submit your O’Level details accurately (wrong entries can disqualify you), and your UTME and O’Level results alone will determine your aggregate for the 2026/2027 session.
