Yoruba runs through the O’Level list, the UTME combination and the Direct Entry requirement. The waiver, however, softens that at O’Level in a way worth knowing before you rule yourself out.
The university offers diploma, degree and postgraduate programmes, including an MBA. The requirements below apply to the regular undergraduate route.

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Yoruba and Communication Arts if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;

All candidates interested in getting admitted into LASU for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 160 or above in your JAMB result.
How Far the Yoruba Waiver Goes at LASU
The O’Level requirement is five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Yoruba and any other three subjects. The waiver then says LASU may accept another Arts or Social Science subject in place of Yoruba.
Note the word may. The waiver is discretionary rather than automatic, so a candidate without Yoruba at O’Level should treat it as a possibility to confirm with the department, not a settled right.
No such flexibility appears on the UTME side. English Language is compulsory, Yoruba is named, and the remaining two papers are open.
Direct Entry is the narrowest section here. An NCE in Yoruba is the only qualification listed, with no A level or diploma alternative given.
The JAMB screening threshold at LASU is 160. If you are relying on the O’Level waiver, put that question to the admissions office early rather than after results are released.
