This article is designed to help students who wish to study Political Science and Defence Studies under the Faculty of Social & Management Sciences at the Nigeria Defence Academy.
It is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in NDA to carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.
The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna is one of the first of two Military Universities in Nigeria. Nigerian Army University, established in 2018 in Biu, Borno State, is the other military university that does not offer military training.
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Political Science and Defence Studies; You require;
Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language Government or History, and at least a pass in Mathematics
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
NDA requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Government, and any other two (2) of Economics, History, Geography, French, Literature in English, Christian Religious Studies / Islamic Studies, and any Nigerian Language
Jamb Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Political Science and Defence Studies under the Faculty of Social & Management Sciences in the above Universities include;
Three (3) Arts or Social Science subjects
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Political Science and Defence Studies if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require; Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Government and one other Social Science subject.

All candidates interested in getting admitted into NDA for the 2024/2025 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 180 or above in your JAMB result.
