NUC Begins Resource Assessment for Eight New Programmes in LASU

LASU has taken a significant stride in its expansion initiatives, hosting a visit from the NUC on Thursday, 13th April 2024, for a resource assessment of eight (8) new academic programs.

Under the leadership of Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, the Vice Chancellor, LASU is actively working towards admitting the first students into these programs in the near future.

The new programs encompass B.Sc. Science Laboratory Science; B.Sc. Radiography and Radiation Science; BMLS Medical Laboratory Science at the Ojo main Campus.

Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) Programmes and B.Sc Industrial Engineering, B.Sc Industrial Design, B.Sc Civil Engineering, B.Sc Survey and Geo-Informatics, and B.Sc Civil Engineering are offered at the University Epe campus.

During a reception for the NUC team at the senate chambers, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello conveyed confidence in the university’s level of preparedness for the assessors.

He also assured them of the university’s full support in their duties.

Prof. Y.A. Adediran, the team leader for industrial engineering, expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for the warm reception.

He emphasized that the exercise aims to verify the alignment of the resources in place with those submitted to the NUC.

Before parting ways, the Vice Chancellor entrusted the teams to the Deans responsible for the new programs, respectively, as they embarked on assessments across the university’s various campuses.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Biodun Adewuya, the provost of the College of Medicine, along with several other Deans, officials, and members of the university’s management.

This assessment at Lagos State University (LASU) will undoubtedly strengthen its reputation and ensure it continues attracting top students and faculty members.
