This article is designed to help students who wish to study Accountancy under the Faculty of Administration at Federal Polytechnic, Oko (OKOPOLY).
Confirm that Accountancy is still listed at OKOPOLY before you register for JAMB. The credit list is far wider than the JAMB combination, and the cut off mark here is lower than at most institutions.
The polytechnic is situated within Oko town in Orumba North Local Government of Anambra State.
The kernel of what eventually became the polytechnic was the brainchild of the Oko Progressive Union, greatly catalyzed by the patronage, resourcefulness and result-oriented leadership of its pioneer chairman, Dr Alex Ekwueme, a former Executive Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The institution is strategically located and surrounded by several centres of industry, commerce and local crafts, including Awka, known for blacksmith and iron works, Nnewi for industrial and technological products, and Onitsha and Aba for commerce and industry.
The climatic condition of the host community, Oko, ranges between 28 and 42 degrees centigrade. It is one of Nigeria’s fastest-developing tertiary institutions with a highly futuristic disposition.
It has a functional memorandum of understanding with universities within and outside the country. The Polytechnic has three campuses.
- The main campus at Oko occupies a total land area of 89 hectares.
- Ufuma campus: This occupies a total land area of 52 hectares.
- Atani campus: This occupies a total area of 40 hectares.
To study Accountancy, candidates must meet the following requirements.

You require; English Language (not Literature in English) and Mathematics and any three subjects from the following:

English Language and Mathematics are the two named credits, with three more drawn from a long list. The bracketed note confirms that Literature in English cannot stand in for English Language.
That list reaches well beyond commerce, taking in Biology, Chemistry and Physics as well as Typewriting, Shorthand and Office Practice, so Principles of Accounts is never actually required.
Jamb Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Accountancy under the Faculty of Administration at OKOPOLY include;
Mathematics and any two of the:
- Geography,
- Commerce,
- Government,
- Principles of Accounts and
- Economics.
The JAMB list narrows to five commercial and social science papers. Mathematics is fixed beside the compulsory English Language, and two come from Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics.
Jamb Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into Federal Polytechnic, Oko, for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 100 or above in your JAMB result.
Open Credits and a 100 Cut Off at OKOPOLY Accountancy
English Language and Mathematics are the only compulsory subjects on either list, which leaves three open credits and two open JAMB papers.
The JAMB combination is the narrower of the two, restricted to commercial and social science papers. The score needed at this polytechnic is 100 or above for the 2026/2027 session.
