This article is designed to help students who wish to study Fashion Design and Clothing Technology Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Federal Polytechnic, Oko (OKOPOLY).
It is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any courses offered in OKOPOLY to carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.
The polytechnic is situated within Oko town in Orumba North Local Government of Anambra State.
The kernel of what eventually became the polytechnic was the brainchild of the Oko Progressive Union (OPU), greatly catalysed by the patronage, resourcefulness and result-oriented leadership of its pioneer chairman, a former Executive Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Alex Ekwueme.
The institution is strategically located and surrounded by several centres of industries, commerce and diverse local crafts such as Awka (well known for blacksmith/iron works), Nnewi (Industry and technological products) and Onitsha and Aba (reputed for Commerce and Industries).
The climatic condition of the host community ranges between 28 and 42 degrees centigrade.
It is one of Nigeria’s fastest-developing tertiary institutions with a highly futuristic disposition. It has a functional memorandum of understanding with universities within and outside the country. The Polytechnic has three campuses.
- The main campus at Oko occupies a total land area of 89 hectares.
- Ufuma campus: This occupies a total land area of 52 hectares.
- Atani campus: This occupies a total area of 40 hectares.
To study Home and Rural Economics, candidates must meet the following requirements.

Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you must fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Fashion Design And Clothing Technology if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require; a)YABATECH: offers the course as a Fashion
Design and requires ‘O’ level credit passes in
English Language, Fine Art or Clothing, Textile or Home
Economics and any two subjects from the following History, Geography, Biology, Health Science, Technical Drawing, Economics, Mathematics and Chemistry.
Kadpoly
Requires credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three from Home Economics, Technical Drawing, Fine Art, Clothing & textiles, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Literature in English and Home Management.
Okopoly
Requires four ‘O’ level credit passes in English language, Fine Art and any other two subjects from History, Clothing & Textile, Chemistry, Biology, Health Science, and Technical Drawing, and at least a credit pass in the English Language is compulsory.
Auchipoly
Requires five ‘O’ level credit
passes in English Language, Mathematics, and any other three subjects at a sitting. Six credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, at two sittings as course requirements.
Auchipoly
Accepts any three subjects as UTME subjects.
Imte
Requires credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and any three of Clothing and Textile/Food and Nutrition/Home Management, Technical
Drawing/Fine Art, history, Physics, Chemistry,
Biology/Agricultural Science, Literature in English and relevant NTC/NBC and NVC Trades.
BenPoly
Requires four ‘O’ level credit passes
in English Language, Fine Art and any other two subjects from History, Clothing & Textile, Chemistry, Biology or Health Science, Technical Drawing and Mathematics.
A pass in Mathematics will be an advantage.
UTME Subject Requirement
Okopoly
Accepts Fine Art and Economics.
Kadpoly
Accepts any three of the Biology/Agricultural
Science, Fine Art/Technical Drawing, Mathematics,
Economics/Commerce, Clothing & Textile Technology or Chemistry.
Jsiit
Accepts Biology/Geography, Technical Drawing instead of Chemistry.
Jamb Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into Federal Polytechnic, Oko, for the 2019/2020 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 100 or above in your JAMB result.
