Petroleum Training Institute, PTI Post UTME Form for 2026/2027 Academic Session

The Petroleum Training Institute, PTI has changed how it screens candidates for the 2026/2027 session in a way that catches returning applicants off guard: there’s no written exam or CBT test this cycle at all.

This affects every candidate who chose PTI, Effurun, as their first or second choice institution for its National Diploma programmes.

Instead of the screening exam PTI has historically run, admission decisions this cycle are based purely on your JAMB UTME score and your O’level results.

This means the preparation that matters most now is making sure your JAMB CAPS profile and O’level uploads are complete and accurate, not cramming for a test that no longer exists.

Below is what PTI requires to apply, the full list of ND programmes on offer, and the step-by-step application process, including the fee and what happens after you submit.

PTI

Applications are open for suitably qualified candidates seeking admission into Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun’s National Diploma (ND) full-time programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session. For this cycle, PTI has dropped the written screening exam.

Admission decisions are based on your JAMB UTME score and O’level results instead of an in-person or CBT screening test, so there’s no separate PTI post UTME form 2026/2027 exam date to wait for the way there used to be.

PTI Post UTME Eligibility

  • All candidates who chose PETROLEUM TRAINING INSTITUTE, EFFURUN as their first or second choice of institution and scored 130 and above can apply for the National Diploma programmes.
  • Candidates who did not choose PTI but scored 130 and above and are willing to change their first choice to PTI before applications close can also apply.
  • All candidates must possess five (5) O’level credit passes relevant to their choice of programme, including English Language and Mathematics, and must have their O’level results uploaded on JAMB CAPS, since institutions cannot shortlist candidates with a blank O’level profile.

The following programmes are available at National Diploma (ND) level.

  • Petroleum Engineering Technology
  • Welding and Fabrication Engineering Technology
  • Industrial Safety and Environmental Technology
  • Petroleum and Gas Processing Engineering Technology

How to Apply for PTI Post UTME Form 2026/2027

PTI’s management published its invitation for applications for the 2026/2027 academic session on its official site. The application fee is N2,000, paid via the Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) system.

  • Visit www.pti.edu.ng.
  • Click on “Admission Menu” and select “APPLY FOR UTME.”
  • Fill in the online sign-on page and click “Click Here to Sign Up” at the bottom (keep your username and password for later use).
  • You’ll be taken to the Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) page to generate your RRR code.
  • Print the RRR code page and take it to any bank for payment, then keep the printout.
  • After payment, return to www.pti.edu.ng and click “Return to My Application” under the Admission menu.
  • Enter your username and password and log in.
  • Complete the online form with your JAMB result and O’level result details.

PTI’s management says admission notifications for this cycle are expected toward the end of October 2026, and successful candidates will have about four weeks from notification to accept their offer on both the JAMB CAPS portal and the PTI portal.

Missing that window risks losing the slot, so don’t sit on an offer once it lands.

NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Inconsistency in names, pictures on photo cards, O’level certificates, UTME results, and other registration documents will not be accepted by the Institute and may lead to disqualification.
  • Read the instructions on the website carefully before completing the form, as all the information and steps required are available on the Institute’s website (www.pti.edu.ng).
  • Confirm your JAMB registration number and email address at the point of application. Errors here can block your result from showing up at all.
  • If you have login issues after payment, email itsupport@pti.edu.ng with your RRR code.

For technical support, email itsupport@pti.edu.ng or call the Institute’s published admission lines.

Bottom Line

PTI remains a solid option for candidates interested in petroleum and engineering technology programmes.

Make sure your JAMB O’level upload is complete before applying, since that’s now central to how PTI decides admissions this session.

With the screening exam removed from this cycle, your UTME score and O’level accuracy are doing all the work, so double-check both before you submit.
