General Admission Requirements
All applicants need a Senior Secondary Certificate (WAEC/NECO/SSC/GCE O-Level or equivalent) with at least five credits, including English Language, in no more than two sittings.
Specific Programme Requirements
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD): at least a Third Class undergraduate degree or Lower Credit HND.
PGDE: open to degree or HND holders, of any class, who are teaching or want to move into teaching.
PGDE/M.Ed combined: a bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class Honours (Lower Division) from TASUED or another senate-approved university; candidates with a Third Class degree or HND Lower Credit plus a relevant postgraduate diploma also qualify.
PGDE Executive (part-time only): an HND or bachelor’s degree with at least a Third Class or lower credit.
Master’s Programmes: at least Second Class Honours (Lower Division) from TASUED or a senate-approved university; candidates with a relevant postgraduate diploma and a Third Class degree, or a PGD plus HND Lower Credit, also qualify.
PhD: a Master’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum GPA of 4.0, or a CGPA of 3.50 to 3.99 through the conversion process. Grades from other scales get recalculated onto a 5-point scale.
Special Course Requirements
Master’s or PhD candidates in Educational Management, Counselling Psychology, Educational Media and Technology, or Educational Evaluation need credit passes in Mathematics and English Language (plus Economics for Educational Management) at O-Level, along with an education certificate for most tracks.
MLIS applicants need at least a Second Class Lower degree in social sciences, humanities, science, or technology, with admission also possible for Third Class degree holders who have a PGD in computer science, library and information science, or information management.
A pass degree with three years of relevant work experience qualifies for the Postgraduate Diploma in English. Business Education applicants at Master’s or doctoral level need credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, and one other subject, plus an education certificate; non-education first-degree holders complete a PGDBED first.
Childhood Education applicants need a background in early childhood or pre-primary/primary education, or an Early Childhood Education Diploma plus a Certificate in Education for other specializations. Science and mathematics-related courses require a credit pass in Mathematics at O-Level.
All Nigerian applicants need an NYSC Discharge, Exemption, or Exclusion certificate.

How to Apply Once the Form Is Confirmed
Applications are completed online, typically through my.tasued.edu.ng/admission, with payment by Mastercard or Visa. The application fee has been reported differently across sources, ₦10,000 in one place, ₦15,000 in another, and the university’s own page showing that fee is currently stale.
Don’t trust either number; confirm the exact figure on the portal once a genuine 2026/2027 notice appears.
You’ll need to upload O-Level certificates, your HND/bachelor’s degree certificate, NYSC documentation (for Nigerian candidates), a birth certificate, and a passport photo.
Three referees familiar with your academic work will also need to submit confidential reports online, and your previous institution will need to send academic transcripts directly to the Secretary of the Postgraduate College at tpc@tasued.edu.ng.
Only applications submitted with all required documents get processed, and departments may require additional screening before a final admission decision.
