Here’s what to expect from the University of Ibadan (UI) convocation ceremony, based on how recent ceremonies have run.
We could not confirm the specific ordinal number (a previous version of this page named the 75th ceremony) or exact dates for the current year’s convocation at the time of this update; UI held its 76th convocation in November 2024 and 77th in November 2025, both in mid-November. UI’s leadership is also in transition, with Professor Peter Olamakinde Olapegba set to take over as Vice-Chancellor from Professor Kayode Adebowale on November 1, 2026, so don’t assume either name is the one presiding without checking UI’s current announcements.
