WAEC Syllabus for All Subjects 2026/2027 | SSCE & GCE

Here is the WAEC syllabus for WASSCE and WAEC GCE candidates, subject by subject, in PDF format.

A note on the 2026/2027 curriculum review: there have been widespread, but not yet fully WAEC-confirmed, reports of a curriculum overhaul affecting subject titles, subject counts, and stream-specific rules (for example, some reports say Economics is now restricted to the Commercial stream, and that subjects like Computer Studies and Animal Husbandry have been renamed or merged). WAEC had not published a complete, official revised syllabus list to match these reports as of this update. Treat the subject list below as the last officially confirmed WAEC syllabus set, and cross-check with your school or the WAEC Nigeria office before assuming any subject has been dropped, renamed, or restricted.

With these syllabi, you will be guided on topics that will appear in your exams in every subject. Each syllabus is structured, precise, and thorough.

The syllabi provided in this post cover topics for both WAEC (external) and WAEC GCE (internal) examinations.

What Is the WAEC Syllabus?

Why Every WAEC Candidate Must Make Use of the WAEC Syllabus

The syllabus gives WAEC candidates areas of concentration for what they should study before and during their WAEC exams. It serves the same symbolic function for a candidate as a compass does for a mariner.

It prevents students from studying topics not covered in the WAEC examination.

Thus, with a syllabus, candidates preparing for the WAEC plan to score well in the prestigious pan-West African examination.

The WAEC curriculum displayed during the WAEC studying and revising session signifies that the students require guidance with their studies, so they should avoid failure at all costs.
