This is to inform the general public and all Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) aspirants that the Department of Leisure & Tourism Management admission requirements has been published.
The requirements cover the O Level credits, the four JAMB papers and the minimum UTME score. The O Level list is the fuller of the two and repays a careful read.

O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Leisure & Tourism Management include Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Geography, a Basic Science subject, and two other subjects from:
- Economics/Commerce
- History
- Book Keeping Principles of Accounting
- Mathematics
- Fine Arts
- French Language
- Government
- Food and Nutrition
- Nigerian Language
- Home Economics
- A credit pass in Mathematics is compulsory
English Language and Geography are named, a basic science subject is required, and two more come from the list below. The final line then makes a Mathematics credit compulsory as well.
That Mathematics clause is easy to miss because it sits at the end of the list rather than at the top with the other named subjects.
The optional group is broad, covering Economics or Commerce, History, Book Keeping and Principles of Accounting, Fine Arts, French, Government, Food and Nutrition, a Nigerian Language and Home Economics.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Chemistry
- Physics
The JAMB papers listed here are English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. Confirm this combination against the current JAMB brochure before registering, since it does not match the Arts and commercial subjects named at O Level.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into YABATECH for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 150 or above in your JAMB result.

The Mathematics Clause in YABATECH Leisure and Tourism Management
At O Level the department asks for English Language, Geography, a basic science subject and two more from a wide list, with a Mathematics credit required on top of those.
Geography and Mathematics are the two to secure first, since neither can be substituted. Check the current JAMB subject combination directly with the school, then make sure your score reaches 150 for the 2026/2027 session.
