This is to inform the general public and all Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) aspirants that the Department of Public Administration requirements has been published.
The requirements cover the O Level credits, the four JAMB papers and the minimum UTME score. The credit list is wide open while the JAMB combination names every paper.

O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Public Administration include Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language (not Literature in English)
- Mathematics and any three subjects from below:
- Economics/Commerce
- Business Methods
- Principles of Accounts
- Literature in English
- Geography
- Office Practice
- Government
- Biology/Agricultural Science
- Chemistry
- Physics
- History/Government
- Typewriting
- Shorthand
English Language and Mathematics are the two named credits, with three more drawn from a long list. The bracketed note confirms that Literature in English cannot substitute for English Language.
That list runs from Economics and Business Methods through the sciences to Typewriting and Shorthand, so candidates from almost any stream can satisfy it.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Government
- History
- Economics
The JAMB combination is the opposite. All four papers are named at English Language, Government, History and Economics, with no choice and no substitution.
None of those three beyond English Language is a required credit, so the form asks for subjects the O Level list never insists on.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into YABATECH for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 150 or above in your JAMB result.

Open Credits, Four Named JAMB Papers at YABATECH Public Administration
English Language and Mathematics are the only compulsory credits, and the remaining three may come from a list spanning commerce, the sciences and the secretarial subjects.
The JAMB form is where this course becomes specific, naming Government, History and Economics alongside English Language. Prepare for those three, then make sure your score reaches 150 for the 2026/2027 session.
