The requirements cover the O Level credits, the four JAMB papers and the minimum UTME score. Only one genuine choice exists on the form, and it is an unusual one.

O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Electrical/Electronic Engineering include Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- Mathematics,
- Physics
- Chemistry and any two subjects from below:
- Biology/Agricultural Science
- Technical Drawing
- Basic Electronics/Basic Electricity
- Auto Mechanics
- Metal Work
- Further Mathematics
- English Language
- Geography
- Economics/Commerce
Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry are the three named credits, with two more taken from the group below them. English Language sits in that optional group rather than among the named subjects.
Most of the group is practical, listing Technical Drawing, Basic Electricity, Auto Mechanics and Metal Work, which reflects the workshop content of the programme.
Further Mathematics, Geography, Economics and Commerce are there as well, so a candidate without workshop subjects can still fill the two places.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry/Technical Drawing
On the JAMB form English Language, Mathematics and Physics are compulsory, and the fourth paper is a choice between Chemistry and Technical Drawing.
Allowing Technical Drawing to replace Chemistry on an engineering form is rare, and it suits candidates who came through a technical college.

Technical Drawing in Place of Chemistry at YABATECH Electrical Engineering
Mathematics and Physics are required on both lists, and Chemistry is a named credit even though the JAMB form lets Technical Drawing stand in for it.
English Language is only an option among the credits yet compulsory in JAMB, so sit it regardless. Then make sure your score reaches 150 for the 2026/2027 session.
