The management of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi (JOSTUM) has announced the deadline for payment of school fees and registration for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.
Note on the name: this institution was formerly the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi (FUAM). It now operates as Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi, with the official acronym JOSTUM. Its website is still uam.edu.ng.
Newly admitted and returning students are advised to pay up all the fees required by the school before the deadline.

JOSTUM School Fees and Registration Deadline
JOSTUM has announced the deadline for payment of fees. The deadline for fees is March 2026.
If you pay your school fees after the deadline, it is not considered valid, and you may go through a lot of filing processes to get your money.
The penalty for defaulting is a loss of studentship for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.
Also, note that the lost session shall form part of the total duration allowed for the Programme.
However, a student who has a genuine reason(s) to apply for Temporary Withdrawal from Studies for the session must follow the due process before the end of the First Semester of the session.

JOSTUM School Fees For All Students
JOSTUM school fees for new and returning students range from N53,000 to N55,000, depending on the course you choose. The fees include the acceptance payment and some other usual expenses.
How Much is JOSTUM Acceptance Fee?
JOSTUM charges ₦30,000 thirty thousand Naira only for her acceptance fee.
New intakes must pay their acceptance fees to be considered students.
How Much is JOSTUM Hostel Fee?
Students who want to stay in the hostel accommodations that are made available by the school authorities would have to apply before time.
No hostel accommodation fee has been released by the management for this session, so there is no figure to quote here.
Students who have registered their courses and cannot find a place to reserve a room should note that accommodation is not yet ready, which is why the tab does not appear on the portal.
Two JOSTUM Figures That Do Not Sit Together
There is a tension on this page worth noticing. The N53,000 to N55,000 range is described as already including the acceptance payment, yet the acceptance fee is separately given as ₦30,000, which would leave very little for everything else.
That is a question for the bursary rather than something to guess at. Ask whether the acceptance fee sits inside the published range or on top of it before you transfer anything.
Accommodation is a separate matter again. Nothing has been released, and the reservation tab stays closed until the hostels are ready, so plan for off-campus options rather than assuming a room.
Whatever your course costs, March 2026 ends the window. JOSTUM does not treat a late payment as valid, and a defaulted session still counts toward your programme duration.
