The administration of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike (FUNAI) publishes its official fee circulars on the university’s own news page. We checked that page directly: the most recent one on file is the “Schedule of Student Charges for 2024/2025 Academic Session,” published in October 2024.
As of today, FUNAI hasn’t posted a newer circular for 2025/2026 or 2026/2027, so the figures below are the latest officially confirmed numbers we could find, not guesses from a third-party site.
Treat these as a reliable floor for budgeting purposes. If fees have risen since the 2024/2025 circular, the increase likely follows the same per-faculty structure shown below; confirm the exact current figure with the bursary or your portal invoice before paying.
FUNAI School Fees (Last Confirmed: 2024/2025 Session)
Each faculty has its own grand total, which already includes the acceptance fee, tuition-equivalent student charges, and the smaller mandatory third-party charges (internet service, students’ union dues, health insurance, parent forum fee, and a development levy for certain faculties).
| Faculty | Freshers (Grand Total) | Returning Students (Grand Total) |
|---|---|---|
| Other Faculties (excluding Engineering, Law, Medicine) | N206,500 | N77,300 |
| Engineering | N259,500 | N80,300 |
| Law | N568,500 | N251,300 |
| Medicine | N578,500 | N251,300 |
| Human Nutrition & Dietetics | N334,500 | N147,300 |
| Nursing Sciences & Medical Laboratory Sciences | N422,500 | N179,500 |
Final-year students in some faculties also pay a few one-off charges that aren’t in the table above: Convocation and Certificate Charges (N18,000), External Examiners Fee (N10,000, N50,000 for Medicine covering MBBS exams), and optional Hostel Accommodation Maintenance (N62,000, or N87,000 and N252,000 for Medicine’s basic and clinical hostel tiers respectively).

It’s a one-time charge paid before your first school fees invoice.

Optional hostel accommodation maintenance was N62,000 per session as of 2024/2025 for most faculties, with higher tiers for Medicine as noted above. This is separate from the grand totals in the table, which already cover tuition-equivalent and mandatory charges only.
What This Means for FUNAI Students Budgeting Ahead
Until FUNAI issues a fresh circular, the 2024/2025 figures above remain the most reliable budgeting reference, since university fee structures rarely change mid-cycle without formal notice. Confirm the exact amount on your own portal invoice before paying, since your specific faculty and year determine which total applies to you.
