The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) in Ekiti State has successfully obtained full accreditation for five academic programs.
These programs include Accounting, Business Administration, Library and Information Science, Education Mathematics, and Criminology and Security Studies.
Maryam Salli, the Director of Accreditation at the National Universities Commission (NUC), conveyed this accreditation in a letter dated April 14th 2024.
Addressed to Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, the Vice-Chancellor of FUOYE, the letter affirms the NUC’s approval of full accreditation for the mentioned courses.
The correspondence emphasizes the NUC’s statutory responsibility for accrediting academic programs in Nigerian Universities, as stated in the letter titled “Results of October/November Accreditation of Academic Programmes in Nigerian Universities.”
In adherence to its statutory mandate and alignment with the approved governmental guidelines, the initial accreditation of a program occurs after the program has completed two academic sessions following its establishment approval.
The National Universities Commission (NUC) fulfills its obligation by accrediting the approved programs in a timely manner.
Consequently, the NUC accredited academic programs at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti in October/November.
Acknowledging this commendable achievement, Dr. Chika Asogwa, the Acting Director of Academic Planning, attributes the success to the exceptional performance and leadership qualities demonstrated by Prof. Abayomi Sunday, the Vice-Chancellor.
