Are you planning to join Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai? Or perhaps you’re already part of the IBBU community.
Either way, staying on top of the academic calendar matters. It is not just about knowing when your exams are, it is about planning your academic year around dates you can trust.

IBBU Academic Calendar: 2025/2026 Session
IBBU’s Senate approved a revised 2025/2026 academic calendar on 8 October 2026, at its 24th Emergency Meeting, with the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Professor Sheikh Abdullah, in attendance. The revision was presented by the Director of Academic Planning, Professor Kabir Muhammad Adamu, and was adopted after full deliberation by Senate.
That confirms the calendar has genuinely been revised and approved very recently, but IBBU has not yet published the specific resumption, registration, lecture, or examination dates from that revision on its own website. We checked the university’s news page and its Academic Planning directorate page directly, and neither one carries the actual date breakdown yet, only the announcement that Senate approved it.
We are not going to carry over last session’s dates and relabel them for 2025/2026, since that would misrepresent a calendar that has just been revised. Once IBBU publishes the detailed breakdown, whether as a circular, a PDF, or a portal notice, we will update this page with the real dates.
Until then, check with the registrar’s office (registrar@ibbu.edu.ng) or your departmental notice board for the dates that apply to you.
