KSCOE has set out its cut-off mark position for 2026/2027 admissions. Anyone who selected the school on JAMB should treat this as the first checkpoint before any further paperwork or departmental screening begins.
Candidates who are still unsure where they stand should treat KSCOE’s figure as the starting point for everything else in the admission process. Candidates should confirm their own UTME result against this figure before taking any further step.
NCE Applicants No Longer Sit UTME
From the 2026/2027 admission cycle, applicants applying for NCE programmes, including at KSCOE, with a minimum of four credit passes at SSCE/O’Level are exempted from UTME. This applies to state colleges of education like KSCOE the same as federal ones, since JAMB’s policy covers the NCE programme nationwide.
It was confirmed at JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting in Abuja and reported by the Guardian, Vanguard, and Businessday.
You still need to register with JAMB, though. Eligible applicants go through an Institutional Professional Registration Centre (IPRC) domiciled in a college of education, or any JAMB Professional Registration Centre (PRC), for screening, verification, and issuance of an admission letter via CAPS.
The Old UTME Benchmark (For Context)
Before this change, KSCOE had set a flat UTME requirement of 120 across every school and department, from Social Studies and Political Science in the School of Arts & Social Science, through Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Computer Science in the School of Sciences, to Early Childhood Care Education and Business Education in the vocational schools.

Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan-Waya, Kafanchan, is located in Kaduna State and receives applicants from all parts of the country. For the SSCE side, you’ll still need the relevant credits, including English and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
Since this is a new policy for 2026/2027, confirm directly with KSCOE’s admissions office or your nearest IPRC before finalizing anything.
