O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Dentistry And Dental Surgery; You require;
Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.
All five credits are named, so nothing on this list is optional. Mathematics is the only one that never appears on the JAMB form or at Direct Entry.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Dentistry And Dental Surgery under the Faculty of Medical, Pharmaceutical & Health Sciences at LASU include;
Chemistry, Biology, and one (1) other Science subject
The JAMB combination fixes Chemistry and Biology beside the compulsory English Language and leaves the fourth paper open to any science subject.
That open paper does not reduce your credit requirement, since Physics and Mathematics are still checked on your result.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Dentistry And Dental Surgery if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
Three (3) ‘A’ level passes to include Chemistry, Biology/Zoology, and Physics.
Direct Entry is heavier than most courses, naming all three subjects and requiring three passes rather than two. Zoology is accepted in place of Biology.
