Confirm that Education and Biology is still listed at LASU before you register for JAMB. Chemistry is a compulsory credit even though the JAMB form treats it as optional.
Lagos State University, also known as LASU, was established in 1983 by the enabling Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, for the advancement of learning and establishment of academic excellence.
The university caters to a population of over 35,000 students enrolled full-time. The university also offers courses at Diploma, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate levels.
Lagos State University is located in Ojo, a town in Lagos State, Nigeria. LASU is the only state university in the former British colony. Lagos State University offers diploma, degree, and postgraduate programs, including an MBA program.
O’Level Subject combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education and Biology; You require;
Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and one (1) other subject.
Four credits are named and the fifth carries no stated restriction, so it may come from any group of subjects rather than the sciences alone.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Education and Biology under the Faculty of Education at LASU include;
Biology and two (2) other subjects from Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.
On the JAMB form Biology joins the compulsory English Language, and two papers come from Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
Physics appears there for the first time, while Chemistry drops from a requirement to one of three options, so neither list substitutes for the other.

Chemistry Is a Credit, Not a Choice, at LASU Education and Biology
Biology is required on all three routes, and English Language, Chemistry and Mathematics complete the named credits. Only the fifth credit is left to the candidate.
On the JAMB form Chemistry becomes one option among three and Physics enters the picture, so check the credit list rather than the form. Then make sure your score reaches 160 for the 2026/2027 session.
