The Nasarawa State Government has ordered the closure of Primary and Secondary schools over security threats in the Federal Capital territory.
As a preventative measure, His Excellency Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, has ordered the immediate closure of all primary and secondary schools in the state, including those that are public and those that are private.
This decision was made in response to the repeated incidents of security breaches and threats in other parts of the country, including some of the states nearby.
As a result, all Secondary and Primary School Principals and Head Teachers are directed to release their students/pupils to their parents or guardians.
It is worth noting, however, that pupils presently enrolled in NECO/SSCE exams will be allowed to continue since the government has placed safeguards in place to protect their safety during the exams.
