Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Notice on Fraudulent Internet Activities

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) disclaimer notice regarding publications on fake social media handles operated in the name of the Vice-Chancellor.

OAU

The nefarious activities of a scamming syndicate and impostors on Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms have been brought to the attention of the Management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

These individuals have set out to defraud unsuspecting public members by promising admission placements, job opportunities, award of contracts, and other benefits to teeming seekers for a fee while using the name of the Vice-Chancellor of the University.

In light of this heinous occurrence, public members should know that a respected university like ours never conducts business on social media sites.

The Management considers it unlawful, strange, and improper for anyone or a group of people to align with or conduct business with faceless and unnamed individuals who are not officers or recognized staff of the University.

As a result, the University distances itself entirely from these miscreants who want to drag its image into discredit through their acts.

As a result, we want to reassure the public that efforts are being made to identify and bring the criminal(s) to justice.

Conclusion

We urge you, however, to keep tabs on us for more updates on OAU.
