Staying Safe Online
Unfortunately, admission season also attracts scammers who claim they can guarantee you a result or a place for a fee.
No legitimate Nigerian institution asks for payment from a third party in exchange for a result or an admission slot, so treat any such message as a red flag.
Always use the school’s official portal link rather than a link forwarded to you on social media or through a messaging app.
If the Portal Will Not Load
Result portals in Nigeria tend to experience heavy traffic in the hours right after a release, so if a page times out, it is often congestion rather than a fault on your end.
Try again after a short while, preferably outside peak hours such as early morning or late evening, and clear your browser cache if the page keeps showing an old error.
If the problem persists for more than a day or two, it is worth reaching out to the school’s admissions office directly rather than continuing to refresh the page.
What To Do After You See Your Score
Once your result appears, take a screenshot or print a copy immediately, since some portals are later updated or taken offline once the admission cycle moves on.
Keep this copy alongside your other admission documents, since schools frequently ask for evidence of your post-UTME score during physical screening or clearance.
If your score looks lower than you expected, it is still worth checking the published cut-off for your department before assuming you have missed out.
A Timely Reminder
Checking your Osun State College of Technology post-UTME result is only the first step. Once you have your score, compare it against the department cut-off and keep an eye on the admission list, since the two are usually released close together.
Keep checking this page and the school’s official channels for updates, and never pay anyone outside the official portal for help with your result or your admission.
