Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, also known as OSPOLY, is a tertiary learning institution in Iree, Osun State, Nigeria. The Polytechnic was formerly a satellite campus of The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
It became autonomous on 12 October 1992 when the Governor of Osun State, Alhaji, Isiaka Adeleke, signed the law establishing the institution alongside The Osun State College of Technology located at Esa-Oke in Osun State.
Osun State Polytechnic Iree also has Daily Part-Time Program (DPT) which is located at the Koko campus.
To study Food Technology, candidates must meet the following requirements.
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Food Technology;
You require;
- Mathematics,
- Chemistry and
- Biology/Agricultural
- Science/Health Science.
And any two of the following:
- Physics, Technical Drawing,
- Economics/Commerce,
- English Language,
- Additional/Further Mathematics, Home Economics,
- Food and Nutrition, Geography, plus at least credit
- passes in Physics and English Language.
Read as a whole, the list asks for Mathematics, Chemistry and one of Biology, Agricultural Science or Health Science, plus two subjects from the longer group.
The closing clause then adds credit passes in Physics and English Language, which effectively fills the remaining places.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Food Technology under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Technology at OSPOLY include;
Biology/Agricultural Science and any two of the
following:
- Physics,
- Chemistry,
- Mathematics and
- Economics
The JAMB combination is far shorter, fixing Biology or Agricultural Science beside the compulsory English Language and drawing two papers from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Economics.
