This is to inform all undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Ibadan (UI) that the Senate has approved a revised academic calendar covering the rest of the 2025/2026 session and the start of the 2026/2027 session. UI’s sessions have run behind the regular calendar year for some time, so the dates below cover 2025/2026 activities that stretch into late 2026, with the next session opening in January 2027.

First Semester

Students arrive for the commencement of the 2026/2027 academic session on Monday, 18th January 2027, with postgraduate students resuming alongside undergraduates.
This calendar is subject to further adjustment by Senate, as has happened more than once already this session. Check the UI website and your departmental notice board before making firm plans around any of these dates, and we will update this page if UI issues another revision.
