At the University of Port Harcourt, the Emerald Energy Institute for Petroleum and Energy Economics, Strategic Studies, and Policy is a graduate education institute for petroleum, energy economics, management, and policy.
Its vision is to empower, educate, and engage corporate and professional decision-makers in the petroleum and energy industries.

Admission Requirements for Post Graduate Programme (PGD)
Candidates must hold a strong bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: management, social sciences, geosciences, physical or chemical sciences, or engineering. Also eligible are HND holders with a required Upper Credit.
All applicants must also meet the University of Port Harcourt’s minimal matriculation requirements.
Admission Requirements for Masters of Energy Economics/Petroleum Economics/Energy Business Management/Petroleum Business Management
Applicants require a minimum Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in a relevant discipline of Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Law, Sciences, Geosciences, or Engineering.
However, candidates with Second Class Honours (Lower Division) and at least three years of experience in the petroleum and energy industries may also be considered.
All applicants must also meet the University of Port Harcourt’s minimal matriculation requirements.

- For consideration, candidates must have earned an M.Sc. in a relevant field with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.00 on a 5-point scale.
All candidates must meet the University of Port Harcourt’s minimum graduate school matriculation standards and the ones mentioned above.
UNIPORT Emerald Energy Institute Postgraduate Programmes Duration
- The PGD program will last 12 months and include intensive, full-time study modules. Industry and corporate employees can enrol in modular and sandwich programs and earn credits for 24 months (Part-time).
- The Masters in Energy Economics, Energy Business Management, Petroleum Business Management, and Petroleum Economics at EEI can be finished in 18 months, with a 24-month maximum.
- The Master of Science (M.Sc.) programs, however, last for eight quarters of intensive modular study and six quarters of full-time study.
- The Ph.D. program is demanding, hybrid, and adaptable. After earning an MSc from a respected college with a minimum CGPA of 4.00, it would require a minimum of 12 quarters of intense coursework.

How to Apply for UNIPORT Emerald Energy Institute Postgraduate Admission Form
A Twenty Five Thousand Naira (N25,000) non-refundable application fee was paid to the Emerald Energy Institute, UNIPORT.
The application forms should be completed and delivered electronically, by mail, or by courier to the Emerald Energy Institute headquarters.
The petroleum policy consulting firms, universities, and Emerald Energy Institute all sell application forms, which can also be downloaded on the website www.eeiuniport.edu.ng.
Eight (8) weeks after publication, application forms should be completed.
They must be sent to the director of the Emerald Energy Institute for Petroleum, Policy and Strategic Studies, Energy Economics, at the University of Port Harcourt.
