Here’s exactly how to calculate your aggregate score for Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), with a correctly worked example.

YABATECH was the first higher institution in Nigeria to establish a Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, with close links to commerce and industry. The center runs courses that every student takes throughout their time at the college.

What Is Post-UTME Score?

After every UTME exercise, JAMB sets a national benchmark score candidates must meet before they’re eligible for a school’s Post-UTME. YABATECH then fixes its own cut-off, which can’t fall below JAMB’s benchmark, and that cut-off mark is what’s known as the school’s cut-off mark.

How to Calculate YABATECH Aggregate Score

YABATECH’s JAMB examination is marked out of 400, while its Post-UTME screening is marked out of 100. The formula is a 50:50 split between the two:

1. Divide your JAMB score by 8.
2. Divide your Post-UTME score by 2.
3. Add the two results together to get your aggregate score.

Say a candidate scored 240 in JAMB and 80 in YABATECH’s Post-UTME:

240 ÷ 8 = 30

80 ÷ 2 = 40

30 + 40 = 70

That candidate’s aggregate score would be 70 out of a possible 100.
