This is to inform the general public and all Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) aspirants that the Department of Hospitality Management admission requirements has been published.
The requirements cover the O Level credits, the four JAMB papers and the minimum UTME score. A clause at the end of the credit list adds two compulsory subjects that the opening line does not name.

O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Hospitality Management include Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- Biology/Agricultural Science,
- Mathematics and any three subjects from below:
- Geography
- Food and Nutrition
- Economics
- Technical Drawing
- English Language
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Nigerian Language
- Home Economics
- At least credit passes in English Language and Chemistry are compulsory
Biology or Agricultural Science and Mathematics are named at the top, with three more subjects drawn from the list below. The final line then makes English Language and Chemistry compulsory too.
That effectively fixes four of the five credits, leaving one genuinely free place among Geography, Food and Nutrition, Economics, Technical Drawing, Physics, a Nigerian Language and Home Economics.
Candidates reading only the first two lines often miss the Chemistry requirement, which is the most common reason an otherwise strong result falls short here.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Biology/Agricultural Science and two subjects from below:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
- Economics
The JAMB combination keeps Biology or Agricultural Science beside the compulsory English Language, and two further papers come from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Economics.
Chemistry is optional on the form but compulsory as a credit, so the two lists have to be satisfied separately.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into YABATECH for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 150 or above in your JAMB result.

Biology or Agricultural Science and Mathematics open the credit list, but the closing clause adds English Language and Chemistry, which leaves only one free place out of five.
In JAMB, Chemistry becomes one of four options rather than a requirement, so check your result rather than your registration. Then make sure your score reaches 150 for the 2026/2027 session.
