This is to inform the general public and all Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) aspirants that the Department of Office Technology & Management admission requirements has been published.
The requirements cover the O Level credits, the four JAMB papers and the minimum UTME score. Both subject lists are long, and the two do not contain the same options.

O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Office Technology & Management include Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language (not Literature in English),
- Mathematics and any three subjects from below:
- Economics/Commerce
- Business Methods
- Principles of Accounts
- Literature in English
- Geography
- Office Practice
- Biology/Agricultural Science
- Chemistry
- Physics
- History/Government
- Typewriting
- Shorthand
English Language and Mathematics are the two named credits, with three more drawn from a twelve subject list. The bracketed note makes clear that Literature in English does not count as English Language.
Typewriting, Shorthand and Office Practice all appear on that list, which suits candidates coming from a secretarial or business programme.
Science subjects are accepted too, since Biology, Agricultural Science, Chemistry and Physics each count towards the three open places.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language and any three subjects from below:
- Mathematics
- Economics/Commerce
- History/Government
- Geography
- CRS
- Principles of Accounts
The JAMB list is shorter and leans commercial. English Language is compulsory and three papers come from Mathematics, Economics or Commerce, History or Government, Geography, Christian Religious Studies and Principles of Accounts.
Mathematics is a compulsory credit but only an option in JAMB, and the science subjects accepted at O Level have no place on the form at all.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into YABATECH for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 150 or above in your JAMB result.

Two Different Subject Pools for YABATECH Office Technology and Management
English Language is the only subject compulsory on both lists, and Mathematics is a required credit that becomes optional on the JAMB form.
The two pools differ beyond that. Secretarial and science subjects count towards the credits, while the JAMB options are commercial and social science papers plus Christian Religious Studies. Check both, then clear 150 in JAMB for the 2026/2027 session.
