YSU has confirmed 180 as its cut-off mark for 2026/2027 admissions. That is the baseline JAMB uses to screen candidates who selected the institution, and it applies before any departmental requirement.
Candidates who aspire to get admitted into Yobe State University must meet certain criteria in order to study the course of their choice. Among the list of criteria includes meeting the expected cut-off mark for the school as well as the course or department itself.
YSU’s cut-off mark is 180 to qualify for admission in 2026/2027 for all courses, and YSU accepts and screens only first-choice candidates in their Post UTME. None of this changes depending on how strong the rest of a candidate’s application looks.
Once you have met the requirement for the cut-off mark, you can proceed to the rest admission procedures and requirements for the desired course. This step applies equally whether a candidate is applying from within the state or outside it.
Yobe State University (YSU) is a state-owned university in the state capital Damaturu, Yobe State, Nigeria. Skipping or rushing this part of the process is one of the more common reasons admission gets delayed.
The university has remained one of the most competitive in the country in terms of admissions. YSU has one of the largest student populations of any university in the country.

Clearing YSU’s Mark Is Only Step One
The cut-off mark is YSU‘s way of narrowing the field. Candidates who clear it still have real work left before admission is confirmed.
