Why YSU Returning Students Show the Higher Total
The returning student totals sit N1,400 above the new student ones on every column, which is the opposite of most schedules. The returning table simply lists the identity card, handbook and acceptance lines that the fresher table leaves blank.
Across disciplines the pattern is clearer. Law pays N5,000 more in registration and adds a N1,500 moot court charge, while science students add N3,000 for laboratory work that arts and social science students avoid.
None of those totals includes tuition, which is listed separately at N20,000 for science and arts and N25,000 for Law, nor accommodation at N5,000. A new science student therefore reaches N55,600 in total.
One caution before you budget: the fresher table is headed 2022/2023, so confirm the current figures with the bursary rather than assuming they have held for this session.
