Creative Arts sits under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. It is one of the few UNN courses that spells out a technical college route in detail, alongside the usual O Level and Direct Entry paths.
Fine Arts is the subject that matters most here. It is named in the O Level requirement and again in the JAMB combination, so candidates without it are relying on the technical certificate route instead.

You require; Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language and Fine Arts.
Only two credits are named, which leaves three open. That is a light requirement by UNN standards and reflects a department more interested in demonstrated artistic training than in a particular spread of school subjects.

Jamb Subject Combination
In UTME, the English Language is compulsory for this course. The three (3) other JAMB UTME subjects needed to study Creative Arts under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at UNN are listed below.
Fine Arts and two (2) other Arts subjects or Social Science subjects.
Fine Arts is compulsory at UTME, and the two remaining subjects may be drawn from either the arts or the social sciences. That is a broader allowance than most departments give for the free slots.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Creative Arts if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;(i) Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Arts or Fine Arts and any other subject.
- ND, upper credit HND, lower credit from recognized institutions.
Jamb Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNN for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have a minimum score of 200 or above in your JAMB result.
A Technical College Route Into a Fine Arts Degree
Creative Arts asks for very little at O Level beyond English Language and Fine Arts, then devotes a long passage to the trade subjects an NTC holder may present. Few UNN departments set out that path so fully.
If you hold Fine Arts, the standard route is straightforward. If you do not, read the NTC list closely, since a technical certificate in woodwork, printing, textiles or ceramics may carry you instead. A score of 200 reaches screening.
