Theatre Arts is taught under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at Kaduna State University (KASU). The entry conditions become steadily looser as a candidate moves from O’Level to Direct Entry.
Literature in English is the only paper named anywhere on this page, and it is required at the UTME stage alone. Everything else is described by category.

Confirm that Theatre Arts appears on the current KASU course list and that your JAMB registration records it correctly before you sit the examination. A course entered in error cannot be assessed against these conditions.

Literature in English Is Named Only at UTME for KASU Theatre Arts
The O’Level requirement is five SSCE credits in English Language and Arts subjects. No individual Arts paper is specified, so the candidate chooses the remaining four.
The UTME combination is the only place a subject is named. English Language is compulsory, Literature in English is required, and the two remaining papers are described as other relevant subjects.
Direct Entry is the widest of the three. Two ‘A’ Level or NCE passes are accepted in Arts, Social Sciences or Science subjects, which places no field restriction at all.
A candidate from a science background is therefore shut out at O’Level but welcome at Direct Entry. That inconsistency is worth raising with the department before applying.
A JAMB score of 180 and above is the screening threshold for the 2026/2027 session at KASU. With conditions this open, the score is what separates applicants.
