Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (ABU) has officially confirmed on its own website that the first semester of the 2026/2027 academic session begins Monday, 4th January 2027.
ABU Zaria Academic Calendar for 2026/2027
Like most Nigerian federal universities that lost time to earlier strikes and disruptions, ABU’s academic sessions run on a delayed calendar, which is why the 2026/2027 first semester opens in January rather than the previous October or November. The announcement, published by the registry in late September 2026, confirms this start date but hasn’t yet come with the detailed week-by-week breakdown (registration windows, mid-semester break, exam dates, second semester) that ABU normally issues as a follow-up document or image.
We’re not filling in those remaining dates with guesses. Once ABU’s registry publishes the full calendar, including second semester, we’ll add it here.
