Reading the ACU Banking and Finance Entry Table
For entry at 100 level the table asks for credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and one other Social Science subject. Economics is therefore required outright rather than offered as an option.
Direct Entry works differently and is more demanding. Two A’level passes or equivalents are needed in Accounting, together with one in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Geography or Government.
Crucially, that advanced qualification does not replace the school certificate. The table states plainly that Direct Entry candidates must also satisfy the O’level requirements listed beside the 100 level column.
Accounting appears only on the Direct Entry side, so UTME candidates do not need it. Equally, a Direct Entry candidate without Accounting at A’level has no route described here.
