Guidance and Counselling is taught under the Faculty of Education at Adamawa State University. Mathematics and English are the only named credits, and no field restriction applies anywhere else.
The UTME line accepts social science, arts or science subjects without preference. Few departments anywhere on the ADSU list are this open about supporting papers.
Confirm that Guidance and Counselling appears on the current ADSU course list and that your JAMB registration records it correctly before you sit the examination.

Any Subject Field Works for ADSU Guidance and Counselling
The O’Level requirement is five SSCE credits including Mathematics and English. The remaining three carry no restriction at all, so a candidate from any track can qualify.
Mathematics being required at credit level is the one firm condition. It is easy to overlook on a counselling course, but it is stated plainly here.
The UTME combination asks for three other subjects from the social sciences, arts or sciences, with English Language compulsory. All three fields are accepted equally.
Direct Entry adds to the UTME conditions rather than replacing them, asking for advanced level passes or an NCE in two subjects plus the UTME requirements.
A JAMB score of 180 and above is the screening threshold for the 2026/2027 session at ADSU. With subject conditions this broad, that score carries most of the weight.
